Aerobics - Videos

I first started looking into using aerobic workout videos because it was hard for me to get out of the house on a regular schedule to attend an aerobics class. But after about a year now of using aerobic workout videos, I need to tell you -- if you have the right video and the right attitude, an aerobics video can work every bit as well as being a participant in an aerobics class. Many people buy aerobics videos and just leave them on the shelf to gather dust but never use them. What good is that? Many others use the videos regularly as it fits into their schedule, and with determination and a goal in mind, these can be very useful to do the workouts for a healthier, happier, and more successful life. So what's the difference, why do aerobics videos work for some people and fail miserably for others? I have some theories.

I believe that it is probably not about the aerobics videos at all, but it is about the person who is watching them. A proper attitude is a basic requirement towards exercise if you expect that to result in success. From the very beginning, you need to establish realistic goals and a regular schedule of workouts to help you succeed. Granted, that is not an easy task but with the right combination of determination and commitment, it can and is being done, and many people are using aerobics videos to accomplish it. One of the keys is REGULAR schedule, and that means every week, multiple times per week. Only doing your workouts in the fifth Sunday of the month means you are only going to work out four times a year, and that type of LACK of commitment is one of the things that got you into the sad state of fitness you're in now, right? Set goals, even LITTLE goals, and when you achieve them, you will feel better about yourself and feel better about doing the workouts.

Every bit as important is having adequate space to do your aerobics workout. This is not going to work if you live in a one-bedroom cramped apartment with clothing scattered all over the fllor. You don't need as much space to do your workouts from your aerobics video as you might think, but you do need SOME room if you ever hope to achieve any of your exercise goals. The start of your aerobic workout is setting a time, making the space available that you need to do your workout, and then getting yourself phsyched to just do it. Like anything else, you cannot expect to see immediate results, but if you work at it consistently, you will see results inside of a month. And at that point, don't stop, because that is just the beginning of the new you!
