Modeling ... just saying the word makes it sound glamorous ... beautiful people in the top cities of the world, showing off designer clothes and jewelry to the elite...

In actuality, this popular perspective is probably as far from the truth as possible, almost 180 degrees. Models work hard, and frequently the days are long as the professional photographer gets creative with pictures, different poses, different backgrounds and settings, all being done under hot bright lights, while the models are doing their very best to not look bored or tired for the continuous stream of photos being taken.

But even at that, models are unique. They are very well paid for their work. As they should be! Models have been blessed with extraordinary good looks, superb physiques, hair that is "just right", white pearly teeth that could be a poster child in any dentist's office, and more.

People love to look at designer clothes being sported by top models. In that light, some models are tall, some medium, and there is a trend lately towards petite. The fashion designers make clothes for all of these types, as well as jewelry, purses, shoes, and almost anything else that a person would wear or carry! Modeling worldwide is a multi-billion dollar industry, because modeling increases SALES for the manufacturer of these items, and at the bottom line, SALES is where their revenue come from. Therefore, these fashion designers are more than happy to pay the big bucks for the "right look" to show off their creations.

There is no single characteristic of a potential model that would catch the eye of any modeling talent scout or modeling agency. Sometimes it might be something as striking as the EYES of the model, which can provide a very unique look for the model, which in turn propagates that "unique look" to the merchandise being modeled....

Frequently in their creativeness, a photographer will take color out of a picture, or emphasize particular colors in a picture to provide a very different look. Again, the talent of the model is what makes this effective for the products being modeled...

When an agency is lucky enough to have found a model with strikingly "perfect" facial lines, teeth, or some other "perfection", those qualities are emphasized in the photo shoot. This is particularly effective when two top models are photographed together...

Fashion modeling may not be for everyone, but if it is a career that appeals to you and you have the right stuff, fashion modeling can be extremely rewarding, both personally and financially, and may be well worth your effort to look into seriously.
